I cannot purge this intrusive thought from my mind. YIMBY Delaware.
Once I realized that new castle county, Delaware, is larger than the five boroughs of New York City, and that metropolis is canonically located in Delaware, I have been haunted by the intrusive thought: what if one Delaware governor decided to just do it and be legendary.

Destroy the administrative and cultural silos that are the fundamental dysfunction of Delaware's tiny school districts, and give more power to the teachers union to bargain with a larger body of workers.

In fact, it would be a great idea to do the same thing just to the south and create a "Greater Newark School District" that comprises Christina, Colonial, and Appo. Grow the circle bigger and maximize the governmental evonomy of scale.

If there's a Wilmington-only district, it should necessarily be a "Greater Wilmington School District" that comprises all the high-dollar properties to the west and north that benefit directly from the social and financial infrastructure of the City.
