I'll be at the Bellefonte Cafe in Wilmington this Tuesday alongside a couple other great authors to talk about my latest novel A DARK HOLE DARKLY (probably they'll talk about different novels) and hopefully sign some books!

Should be a fun time.

I cannot purge this intrusive thought from my mind. YIMBY Delaware.
Once I realized that new castle county, Delaware, is larger than the five boroughs of New York City, and that metropolis is canonically located in Delaware, I have been haunted by the intrusive thought: what if one Delaware governor decided to just do it and be legendary.

But in all seriousness, a Delaware committed to making Wilmington a bustling YIMBY metropolis with ten million people could totally do it.

Let's be honest about the northern Delaware school district consolidation proposals. Administrators & Boards don't like it because it'll force them to do some real work, reduce the number of cushy elected board positions, and give a HUGE boost to the leverage of the teachers union in contract talks.

They're also FLAT, which is antithetical to a century of car-building wisdom and engineering. Read any book about the history of auto manufacturing and safety and you'll learn that it's the curves and shaping of the fenders and body parts that affords them strength and resilience.
They're a bunch of plastics and lightweight aluminum alloys. Who would have guessed that they wouldn't hold together over the years?

Glue. You know what kind of glue was used in a 1972 GMC? It was called welds. I mean, there was seam sealers to seal up trunk areas and around floorboards in older cars; but no "glue". That's ridiculous.

Planned obsolescence has gone too far. Teslas rattle themselves into oblivion, destroying any hope of resale or trade-in value. Post-millennial stick-built housing is little more than papier-maché on a poorly-poured slab of the lowest bidder's concrete. It's façade. It's artifice.
