Assistant Professor of History and Religious Studies (Motlow State CC). DND Novice. Cat dad.
The positives of having a faculty book budget and revising course material includes slowly acquiring books from the guests from @thisguysucked.com. Planning for this to be holiday break reading.

As someone who rarely engages beyond likes and shares on any social media, I have to say that Bluesky has been the best experience so far. Much more worthwhile engagement and content! To anyone seeing this. Thank you for creating such a space.

It's a community name and not a word, but Chalybeate Springs is a definite tell.
What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

The academic’s mid-summer crisis is a mid-life crisis in miniature:

You realize summer is half gone, & not only that: you see that the longest & least burdened days came early, & they are well past. You compare all you thought you’d do against the days remaining & grieve for what never will be

As always, I am a constant liker on social media. However, Bluesky is the only one where I feel the ability to interact to the same degree that I do in my day-to-day. Good job to the community for keeping that vibe a reality!

I made a snarky tweet about how I wish there was a podcast where all my historian friends could talk about how much we hate some of the people we research - 2 million people saw it and now it appears I'm entering my Person With A Podcast arc.

It also makes it harder for them to ban books.

Well, I have made the move to Bluesky. However, I am not one to have a large social media presence. Instead, expect a lot of random "likes" and shares. The content will likely be:
-video game related
-dnd related
-history related
-occasionally but rarely comical

I'm happy to be here!
