I think it’s like asking an apple to turn into an orange. It’s not possible. Starmer has many strengths but painting a hopeful vision and identity of Britain, which we need, is not one of them sadly. He has to enable others to pick up the brush.

The SNP promised a lot through the utopian sunny uplands of independence. Much of which was not possible. The worry is many will feel betrayed by the lack of delivery and hypocrisy. People don’t get sad when they get betrayed, they usually get angry. And anger does not bode well for voter intention.
