I have been wondering about this and it just sounds like a scam made as a PR stunt. Congress has not appropriated $ for it, and I find no federal regulations pertaining to it. I've heard nothing of anyone successfully using this program through reliable news outlets, either. 🙄

Also, I bought a Chinese-style kitchen knife from Daiso a year ago, and I'm really liking it. This type of knife is hard to find around here. The original price is 500 yen, and it was $8 a year ago; maybe it's $9 or $10 now. It's still worth it.

I haven't been to Daiso for about a year now, but these items used to be $1.75 USD. They retail in Japan for 100 yen (= 65 cents), so Daiso would mark them up about 275%.
Now their base US price seems to be $2.25, which is 3.5 times the original price in Japan.
Tremendous tariffs!
