I have heard that Trump gets excited by the prospect of firing on unarmed civilians. At least with Lafayette Park and his upside down Bible there were still grownups at the WH to prevent that.

My suspicion is that there are some in the GOP who do not want an idiotic war with Venezuela. Unseating Hegseth might make that less likely.
