Bitcoin are somewhat analogous to tulips at the height of the Dutch Tulip Mania - they're speculative assets given value by the madness of crowds. S.4912 would require the USG to trade dollars for bitcoin that billionaire techbros own (b/c they, or their pals, created bitcoin, out of thin air)...
GQP has introduced S.4912 that will allow billionaires to fleece the US. Please call your senators and congress-people and tell them to oppose the BITCOIN Act!!! They want to create a repository that WE will *buy* Crypto Bitcoins that these billionaires and cartels can't sell!

There’s only 1 person in Congress who doesn’t trade stocks, doesn’t take corporate PAC money, and has a public schedule. That’s me. And it should be the standard.

I bet a lot of them are smart enough to grasp that this Fox News talking point is BS.
the new Republican talking point is that it's insulting to complain about requiring women to show their birth certificate and passport in order to vote because they're smart enough to figure it out

We're in that weird netherworld where mounting government oppression & censorship has not yet crushed art -> on the contrary, it has inspired artistic transcendence. For the moment.

Ronald Reagan killing the FCC's "Fairness Doctrine" in 1987 helped pave the way for this FCC government censorship that would have brought a smile to the Soviet Union apparatchiks of olde.
The regime is now dictating what political views are acceptable to air on television and paramount/cbs are collaborating in that censorship bsky.app/profile/ditz...
Stephen Colbert said that the FCC and CBS - which is in no way a compromised or complicit organization - wouldn’t allow him to broadcast an interview with Democratic State Rep James Talarico. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/17/a...

Sorry your health insurance went up so much, we had to give a few trillion $ to psychopathic techbro overlords who invested it in AI data centers that pollute our air & water, drive up our electricity costs, and power AI that hallucinates, atrophies our frontal lobes, & hooks us on fake girlfriends.
Sorry your health insurance costs so much more this year, we needed to make fancy airplanes for illiterate dog-murderers

I give you the "thought leader" whose manic, inchaote philosophical ejaculations have turned Silicon Valley's techbro billionaires into super-empowered white supremacist Nazis now steering our country. The 2nd snip is especially notable.
May I present to you, the most recent incisive stylings of our ruling elite’s philosopher-king?

I've never seen mainstream media doing this to *anyone*, let alone a public figure. The New York Times is now worse than Fox News, which merely broadcasts dumb, mean, racist, people saying dumb, mean, racist things. The NYT uses its platform to sneak such garbage into the minds of coastal liberals.
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

Our government is imprisoning and killing babies.
Journalists are reporting that Juan Nicolas, a two-month-old detainee at the Dilley, Texas ICE Family Concentration Camp, has deteriorated so severely that he was rushed to a hospital in an unknown condition on February 16, 2026.

ICE/CBP have gone unfunded for 3 days; how about 3 years? The best way to claw back the $170 billion immigration enforcement surge in the Big Beautiful Bill is to just claw it back. The 2nd-best way is to slowly drain it by never funding the underlying appropriation. @ryanlcooper.com makes the case:

Under Massachusetts Governor Healey, the Bay State has led the nation with at least 2 triumphant "firsts": the first and only state to make an official contract with ICE, and the first state to incorporate the use of AI into state government.
#Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, who is up for reelection this year, will forcefully criticize ICE and the Trump administration—what she won't do is stop working with them.

Authors must continuously examine the logical coherence of their ideas as they write. Failing this produces gibberish. Using AI in the writing process is a type of self-lobotomy.
Writing is thinking.

It's not some marginal boring task you can skip. It's the heart of it.
It’s easy to think writing is mainly the transcription of ideas you already have—that is, until you try to write something worthwhile, and you find what you thought were saying transform into something far more interesting in the process. This skips that last step, and that is *not* an improvement.

These are not the priorities of the American people. They are the priorities of the Trump Administration, which is waging an undeclared war on the majority of Americans.
Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted child sex trafficker, gets gardening time, sports, therapy dogs, and spa products in prison.

Migrant children in custody are sleeping on concrete floors without enough food or clean water.

Our priorities are so fucked.

As political scientist Thomas Zimmer explains, Ezra Klein's "we have to learn to listen to, & learn to live, with each other" shtick is BS, because the American right rejects coexistence; it is bent on subjugating & crushing its opponents.
The key problem with what Ezra Klein says here is that he fails – or is unwilling – to grapple with the fundamental reality of the political conflict: The movement that dominates today’s Right fully rejects the very idea of “living here with each other” as equals. That’s their defining position.
"All I can say for me in the work I do is that I want to create a space that takes our disagreements seriously, that takes the stakes of them seriously, the consequences for people seriously, but does so without deepening our divisions irreparably. We are going to have to live here with each other"

Urge your reps to ban Surveillance Pricing and boycott any business that uses it. If it’s allowed to take root, you will be robbed for the rest of your lives.
(1/11) If you live in NY, you’ve probably started seeing a new warning: “THIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.” This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and it’s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

A disastrously dumb decision.
BIG NEWS: We’re partnering with Open AI to launch a phased rollout of a ChatGPT-powered AI assistant for state workers – the first state in the nation to do it.

AI is here. Let’s use it as a tool to make government work faster and better for the people of Massachusetts.
