Maher Tarabishi, who has been detained by ICE since October, was the primary caretaker of his disabled adult child, Wael.
On Jan. 23, Wael died from complications related to Pompe disease, a rare genetic condition.

After my brain surgery in 2014, I spent several days in the ICU unit and as anxious as I was, I had the best nurses looking after me. Nurses are my heroes. Finding out that Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse for me, made it even more horrifying and he took care of our veterans. His murder is so tragic. 😢💔

When this ends, we can't go back to 2016 "normal." That status quo—economically squeezed, politically powerless—is what got us here.
Economic populism alone isn't enough. Pair it with civic renewal. That's the actual rebuilding.
