Just heard from a friend who got Pfizer and had to miss work because it knocked him on his…. I’ve gotten all 3 shots and appreciate mRNA tech, but never had a reaction like that with Novovax

Thanks Jeff - sounds like you're diplomatically saying that due to the unqualified wackjob anti-vax former heroin addict who Trump appointed to run US FDA, we're not getting the latest and best Novavax LP.8.1, but rather last year's?! How infuriating! And that for the latest we should go mRNA. Thx!

I should add that we have had ZERO side effects from Novovax, compared to feeling sore & COVIDy for 1-2 days after both mRNA vaccines. We also have not tested positive for COVID since getting Novovax shots, though we each had one bug that was similar the following spring or summer. Appreciate you!

Question, @jeffgilchrist.bsky.social: after getting both mRNA vaccines in 21-22, we got Novovax in Nov '23 having read your thread. No side effects+no COVID that yr. We got it again mid- Nov '24 as we read it matched best w/variants. Any idea which vaccine matches best w current variants this yr?
