I've seen a lot of articles about the ENORMOUS waste of money for dumbfuck's birthday parade. What I'd love some links to, if anyone has them, is analysis of the risks posed by him having that much military power on the ground in D.C., ready to do his bidding. Am I just paranoid?

We start state testing next week, so I had the kids write some positive notes that I could put on their desks to lift their spirits while they're deep in it. I'm keeping this one forever because it looks like how I feel each morning this time of year. Deep breath in.... and.... scream. 😂 #iteach4th

My mom broke her wrist, and is having surgery to repair it today. While we were waiting, she told me about a well-meaning but slightly daft lady who heard how worried she was, put her hand on my mom's shoulder, and told her, "God's kept you here for 80 years - he's not going to let you go now."

My next project is ready to go! When I ordered this gorgeous Lugana, I thought it was 28ct, but it's 25ct which makes the design too big to fit in any of my Qsnaps. I don't like moving hoops mid-WIP, so (tl;dr) I'm trying out my first Nurge hoop when it arrives tomorrow morning. ♥️

The worst part of cross stitch is unkitting a finished project and kitting a new one. If I won the lottery, my one indulgence would be buying material and thread for each new project, donating what's left over any time I finished one, and giving zero f's about organizing my inventory.

Me: Sam has 197 square tiles. He's building a rectangular mural that is 6 tiles wide. Could Sam use all of his tiles in the mural?
M: I got this! No, because 6 is an EVEN number and 197 is an ODD number and no multiple of 6 will EVER be odd because that's just PHYSICS.

She's almost done!! All that's left is the French knots (which I've never done before, so... gotta learn how to do those this week 😂), and an inscription for the former student I'm making this for. I think this is my favorite piece I've ever done. 😍

I think I gave myself stitcher's elbow. I'm taking Aleve, but does anyone else deal with this and have tips to prevent aggravating it? I've never had this happen before, and the only thing I can think of is that I'm using 28ct, so I have to stitch leaning over my magnifying lamp.

I don't understand the world I'm living in. The earth doesn't feel solid, nothing makes sense, and we need a resistance leader to step forward and lift the mantle from Sanders. AOC, maybe? All I know is, traditional Dems need to read the fucking room and let new leaders lead. We can fight this.

1. Backstitching is magic.
2. I learned way too late in this process that pin stitch still works on evenweave - all my buried threads are making progress of this stage painfully slow.
3. I love colorful pieces way more than I thought I did.
