Ok, in this particular case he gets a pass, as "people in power" here includes RFK.

Ok, so we got our shots yesterday. Both my partner and myself, and we went for flu & Covid at once to get everything all done quickly. It was a matter of checking a box and the most trouble we had was waiting 10 min while the pharmacist argued with the computer because they'd run out of something.

I... actually haven't gone for mine yet this year. Got vaxxed in October of last year, I think, and we're at a totally new-to-us pharmacy now. Still working out how to request vax appointments with this one. That bit of confusion has nothing to do with RFK's mess, it's a capitalism issue.

If asthma counts as high-risk, maybe I don't have to worry so much about my partner being able to get the updated vax... I qualify under "heart conditions" myself.

That kinda sounds like "I'd rather stay at the library while you run the rest of your errands, mommy." Which would probably be a reasonable ask if she were 8.

Ok, that sounds a lot worse when I leave out that the youngest of my brothers turns 35 this year. I've been out on my own for a couple decades, and my dad's family is from Baton Rouge.

My parents and youngest brothers moved to Louisiana this January, and refuse to understand why I won't visit them.

Yeah, my state seems to be going that direction as well. Once very firmly purple (lean blue) it's now getting more of a leaning towards red... and this is mostly the fault of the Free Staters who moved in specifically to mess with our politics. They're trying to take away local control.

We've been using the same local Rite Aid since 2011, but the insurance we have now doesn't really like that. They want us to use their mail-order pharmacy, at least for what they decide are "maintaince meds". Won't let RA do the 90-day supply, we have to switch those to Walgreens.

As a disabled queer demigirl, I KNOW I should be doing more, that just signing petitions isn't anywhere close to enough... but most weeks it's a struggle to get out of the house twice. To make sure the laundry gets done. There's only me and my partner to care for, and even that is a LOT sometimes.

Ooo!!! So many pretty patterns it's hard to choose... but if I can only pick one, probably the butterflies would be my first choice, to go with the butterflies I just got for my wheel covers on my chair. (Which fit my handle.)

Um, $1100 won't even pay rent. What is one to eat? Or wear? How does one pay the doctor...oh right, Canada, so you don't have to pay $$$ for doctors. But you still need to buy meds & other supplies.

Besides which.... "just stay home"... from the doctor? Uh, how about I can't? How does one expect to maintain life if one cannot get healthcare in safety?

Getting the titer checked is definitely a good idea. I had mine checked last fall, and it was fine. Tried to convince Beloved to get theirs checked as well, but they will not do needles that aren't required.

I'm a little grumpy about my current choice of mask. Now I understand why people complain about masks making their ears hurt. I don't normally wear an earloop mask. I need to get a head strap for this one.
