I'm pretty sure I was at that Penguicon. I missed the "tea party" panel... There was always so much going on at once that you had to make hard choices about what to see and do.
Penguicon 2006. Instead of saying the words "space battles" we used the words "tea parties." It was ridiculous we had to do it, and after two minutes everyone followed the discussion perfectly. This was before the phrase "tea party" was hijacked by proto-MAGA in the US.
I once went to a con in Michigan where you were supposed to be in a panel about warfare in sci-fi I think. The hotel nixed that idea, so you instead did a panel discussion on tea. It was brilliant. You talked and talked, and managed to stay on topic the whole time.

I'm still technically on Twitter, because I told Shady Vance to eat a fucking crayon and got "banned" (put into read-only mode) for "inciting violence" and can't even delete my account there. Also technically on FB to prevent someone from hijacking the account. Both are going into a DNS blacklist.
