It is no accident that DOGE is attacking smaller budget institutions that aid average people, rather than looking into waste in military spending. Things that touch wealthy folks too much will be a no no.

my granddad worked in a steel mill all his life. as he got older, he started getting back surgeries that never seemed to work and always left him frustrated and in more pain. it hurt for him to walk. he had great union health insurance, but nothing ever helped. he died miserable and so, so angry.

I grew up watching him suffer, and seeing the way his pain affected everyone he loved. I’m terrified of what might be coming for my dad, who’s worked construction for 40 years, or my partner, who does manual labor. we all deserve so much better.
