For those of you who say that they are now making food political. Throughout history, food has always been political.
Look at France due to bread shortages under Louis XVI France was also practically broke (hmm trillions in debt the US is)
I wish my Irish heritage was a generation closer then I could petition to gtfo and get myself and kids out of this hellscape. Or if other countries would recognize generational citizenship I could apply for Scotland or Netherlands as we could apply there.

I am so angry right now. At what is happening. We the people need to find a way to stop this cause our elected representatives sure as hell aren’t. And our military sure as hell isn’t. @housedemocrats.bsky.social @democrats.org @kenmartin.bsky.social
This is as illegal as hell.

Thought he “ended eight wars” or some lie of the sort here he is starting them. You’re a special kind of fool (and fascist ) if you still support this man and what he AND his administration represents.
What the United States did in Venezuela is prohibited under international law, which bars the use of force as an instrument of national policy.

Putting together a generational family cookbook for my mom and sister this is definitely a bigger undertaking than I initially expected 🤣. Oh well

I really should make dinner tonight but darn it I just did my day two for my Tuscan bread that I’ll be able to bake tomorrow. Made blueberry muffins and two loaves of sandwich bread. And a batch of cookies. But my house smells amazing

Going to attempt to make Tuscan bread…. It’s gonna take three days to make two loaves. Day one making the slurry. Leave it over night. Day two add more flour and water knead leave for overnight. Day three finish adding the ingredients let it rest then you get to bake it. Here’s hoping.

I improved some fried rice tonight from a recipe my mom made back in the 80’s. Turned it into a beef fried rice (minus the veggies cause textures with a kiddo that has ARFID you gotta make adjustments). Anyway turned out great and very similar to the restaurant we usually eat at. Just made too much

Ok cutting this open this morning made me feel a little better about the improv I had to do since I had an incomplete recipe and didn’t realize it until I was halfway done 😭. But all things considered it’s pretty darn good and had good oven spring and squish.

Went to work today so another coworker could spend part of the holiday with their family. Also Starbucks wth were you open on Christmas Day. There isn’t enough justification to have your locations open on Christmas. We can brew our coffee at home.

Time for bulk rise. (Yes I know it’s still very hydrated). I’m still trying to figure out how much decrease the water by here as for some reason in my dry ass house this is the only thing to retain moisture

I know it's Christmas Eve, but an Ontario animal sanctuary (pet pigs, horses, etc) just had their water tank system fail. It's going to cost over $3000 to fix it, and it's an emergency situation (the animals have to have water).

I made pumpkin bread for food day it makes three loaves. Apparently I don’t make it enough cause the kids treated it like crack and two of the three loaves are gone 😳. I told them I have to have one for tomorrow. I’m not sure I can trust them not to eat it 🤣

Trying my hand at blueberry sourdough I found a recipe well I thought I did but it’s incomplete so now I’m winging it 🤣🤣 hope it works out cause I’m going in without a clue. I checked a few recipes for times and temps so i guess I’ll hope for the best

I find cooking & baking relaxing & Yes, I do get upset with myself if a new technique or dish isn’t coming together like I thought it would. I’m an imperfect person. I love finding recipes from around the globe esp on SM. If anyone has suggestions on things I should try to cook/bake please lmk

Time to feed my sourdough and then have another cup of coffee before I tuck in and read my new book.

This is dangerous. There are certain regimes throughout history and even today that regulate what their people see and hear. We are already experiencing a type of censure in what we watch which is why I like BlueSky and other non traditional platforms where the information is being shared.
Soon we’re all going to be penalized for speaking unkind words about the führer and liberals — the resistance will be labeled as “Enemies of the State” and become National Security Threats. They’re going to take away our voices if we don’t stop them.

got a call from the hospital and they were over staffed enough on my unit that I was asked if I wanted the day off. Yes absolutely.
So I did a load of dishes, put on a pot of coffee and tossed a load of laundry in the wash.
Now I am sitting down surrounded by my 2 🐶enjoying my ☕️ and pumpkin 🍞

Really wanting a piece of pumpkin bread but alas I can’t find it in myself to make her move so I can cut myself a slice.

I made three loaves of pumpkin bread and a batch of spinach dip for food days at work the next couple of days. My middle child came out and asked how many loaves I was taking to work. Only one and half the dip. “Score!” Was his response. The dip makes a ton and there gonna be a lot of food.
