#VA01's Rob Wittman spreads disinformation, refuses to meet anyone but donors, and hands regular Virginians’ $$$ to billionaires. Enough! We can replace him in Nov 2026. Follow us to learn the truth behind his lies and cowardice. linktr.ee/wittmanwatch
After Dempsey-Beggs’ annnouncement, we’ve updated our quick profile list for the 8 people currently seeking the Dem nomination for #VA01.

Claim: "HR1 restores immediate expensing for R&D.” This one's really cute: in Trump’s first term, the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act removed companies' ability to fully expense R&D. HR1 restores that ability. Are you following this? 12/

On the “tell”: we think Rob’s emails were written by Republican Propaganda Central. He says HR3699 (Energy Choice Act) “awaits Committee consideration” but it passed committee on a week ago! Clearly his messages are queued in advance. His post is as out of date as his status as a Congressperson! 3/
December 11, 2025 at 12:56 PM
Rob really wants you to believe him when he says that burning dinosaurs will lower your energy costs. Like his tenure as our representative, it’s just WRONG. HR1 will *increase* your costs, not lower them! Also, there’s an interesting “tell” in this message. Let’s dive in...

The NDAA passed today. We have a question for Rob: Does it include funding for murder and piracy?

Say hello to Elizabeth Dempsey-Beggs, who has announced her candidacy for #VA01! Ms. Dempsey-Beggs is a US Army Tank Commander veteran, corporate executive, foster parent, TikTok influencer, and current William & Mary MBA student. 1/

VA ranked 5th partly because of Medicaid expansion, which Wittman is cutting. “No state in the country scored higher than a C+ on overall health care performance.”
🤒20% of Virginians can’t afford treatments
💰Insurance costs up 22% for families

Wittman should help us but he’s only helping Trump.

Wittman is circling like a merry-go-round that occasionally stops in front of you. Some points are correct but obscured by selective propaganda techniques. We'd like to see Wittman face his constituents and tell us what's in store for 2026 and beyond. Perhaps then we can stop spinning.
December 9, 2025 at 9:51 PM
Even Wittman’s party faithful understand that he, Trump, and cronies in Congress and business are responsible for the rising costs and lower wages that are destroying our chances to achieve the American Dream. The outstanding @gelliottmorris.com delivers the data that shows the truth.

The fact is, because of HR1 VA faces $1.7 billion in rural Medicaid cuts, Virginia hospitals will lose up to $26bn, and 55,500 people will lose coverage. 8/
December 9, 2025 at 12:43 PM
Then he claims HR1 will "prevent rural hospital closures”. Fact: HR1 cuts Medicaid to the bone. The $50bn Rural Health Transformation Fund was primarily a Dem Party idea to soften the blow of other HR1 provisions but even that will cover only 1/3 of expected $137bn in rural losses. 4/
December 9, 2025 at 12:43 PM
As we’ve documented multiple times, HR1 cuts $1.2 trillion from safety net programs, with $50.4 billion specifically from rural hospitals. 1.8 million rural Americans will lose coverage. But Wittman’s wealthy donors are getting tax breaks, so let that comfort us as we die from the flu! 2/
December 9, 2025 at 12:43 PM
Wittman and Republican’s desperation is on full display with his latest volley of disinformation about HR1 and Medicaid. This “mythbusting” is blatant, deliberate nonsense dressed up in Rob’s “moderate everyman” clothing. This is simply disgraceful. Here’s why. 🧵

Coming tomorrow AM: a thread about Medicaid, rural Virginia healthcare, and this steaming pile of disinformation from Wittman.

2026 is coming, Rob…
December 8, 2025 at 12:53 PM
Representative Wittman says he feels your pain. We wonder as he shares his concern about the cost of living but promotes the virtues of HR1. Will he ever acknowledge that his vote for The Big Brutal Bill is harming Virginia’s economy, environment, and well-being?
December 6, 2025 at 8:16 PM
If Wittman were so concerned about “protecting public health,” he wouldn’t have voted to pass HR1 and against the ACA 70 times. Wittman and friends push healthcare plans that rely on magical thinking. They should stop lying and propose a bipartisan plan. We won’t wait for another 15 years.
December 5, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Again, hypocrisy reigns with Rob Wittman’s “Finding ORE Act.” He wraps an industry‑driven minerals‑grab in feel‑good language about stewardship while pushing a bill that hands foreign critical‑mineral opportunities to U.S. and allied companies without real protections for water, ecosystems, (1/2)
December 5, 2025 at 4:35 PM
He and Trump sabotaged the ACA to create the problems he now uses to justify further enriching his friends and expand health insurers’ profits while not actually solving the problems at all. Do NOT be fooled! Wittman is lying to you. It’s not the first time and it won't be the last. #FlipVA01 /end
December 4, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Wittman’s “solutions” just address symptoms of his party’s ACA interference, not root causes. He suggests short-term and association health plans; these circumvent ACA consumer protections, cherry-pick healthy enrollees, and raise premiums for those remaining in comprehensive coverage by 2-3%. 5/
December 4, 2025 at 4:32 PM
The problems he lists - rising premiums and limited options- directly result from sabotage of the ACA, executed by Wittman, Trump, Republicans broadly, and health insurance lobbyists. The Trump administration cut subsidies, eliminated the individual mandate, and expanded substandard plans. 2/
December 4, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Wittman is lying about healthcare - again. This one’s a doozy, too: he’s lying about why the problems exist *and* promoting “solutions" that will make the problems WORSE. We’ve seen this level of deceit from Wittman a few times but even we are astounded by his brazenness here. Let’s deep dive... 🧵
December 4, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Hegseth endangers US troops, orders murders, and boasts about it. Wittman says nothing - even as the Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee! His silence is complicity or cowardice, or both. He is unfit to represent any US district, and definitely not #VA01. #FlipVA01

Our favorite Congressman delivered a tome on the high cost of living. In it, he uses his favorite propaganda technique, “stacking the deck," stressing the positive while avoiding the negative. He gives us a window into his values: toe the party line on taxes and reward the fossil fuel industries.
