Some days being a writer means scripting comics or adding words to a novel.

Some days it means shooting a music video for a song called “Sweet Children Let’s Be Satanists.”

The Norse gods get up to a lot of shenanigans.

But when it comes to gender and trans rights, even *they* know to mind their own damn business.

The first of this October’s supernatural puzzle-filled events — written by me (and @twocookiesandacoke.bsky.social!) — has been announced!

The Seattle MoPop museum’s annual Fashionably Undead event this year is — THE GOOPENING. A tribute to 80s demonic horror films, one of my favorite subgenres.

We’re on the cusp of 5k, which means we’re about to unlock a (free!) concept album, written specifically for this series, by Viking metal band, Odyn!

We’re also currently working on a “launch celebration” concert at one of my favorite Portland venues.

Comics will break your high E string, kid.

ValhalLaw reached its launch goal in under 12 hours! Y’all are amazing.

And we’ve got epic stretch goals on the horizon (What’s that? You dare a kick-ass Viking metal band to record a concept album set in the world of ValhalLaw? Huh.)

Thanks to everyone spreading the word. It really does help!

Had a lovely time at @dragoncon.org.

Sat on some fun panels to chat about my upcoming comic series, finally got to meet @ffrancavilla.bsky.social & @stevehorton.bsky.social, and spent many intoxicated hours with @bhalliday.bsky.social, @twocookiesandacoke.bsky.social and the rest of the crew

Finally got to catch a @portlandbangers.bsky.social game — beautiful Portland day singing rally cries to the tune of “pink pony club” and chatting up the opposing team’s goalie’s mom.

Later, a guy handed me his homemade team fanzine.

Semi-pro sports rule, folks. Support them whenever you can.

Who me? Oh I’m just hanging a gift from Eisner-winning artist and semi-professional gardener @colleencoover.bsky.social

If you have a chance to see @clppng.bsky.social perform “Blood of the Fang” with Counterfeit Madison, do yourself a favor and make it happen.

Brilliant show at Portland’s Holoscene last night.

A cool piece of history I recently found:

This Trailblazers trash can was made in 1969, the inaugural year of Portland joining the NBA.

Did I pay too much for it? I mean, yeah, it’s a 55 year old metal bucket.

Still works great, though.

Wrapped a D&D campaign with @paultobin.bsky.social @chrisroberson.net @tonyshasteen.bsky.social & @penzerker.bsky.social w/ the help of some friends:

@admancomics.bsky.social drew a cover for the arrow-centric ‘zine, “Shaft”

@igorgrouper.bsky.social captured a hard-fought, albeit messy, victory

I’m a firm believer that few places are better for fostering community than indie theaters.

So grateful for venues like Portland’s Cinemagic, which flew in the amazing scream queen Caroline “Stretch” Williams for a screening of Leprechaun 3.

Got my Texas Chainsaw board game signed, too!

Late to the party, but for all my fellow horror fans: Heart Eyes was a delight. Very deftly walked the precarious line between romantic comedy and horror, and somehow pulled it off without being snarky or mean.

It’s an unusual blend for American cinema, and I’d love to see more of it.

Every table has its own dynamic, and there are very few hard rules for table top RPG gaming.

But if a DM uses the phrase “sore winners,” to describe the other players, I’d suggest that everyone in that room is Doing It Wrong.

Here is the list of new artists (from IG) for all the Bluesky folks.

I don’t know if BKK follows the same “which song?” rules here as the do over there, but just in case:

Tori Amos?
Bikini Kill?
David Bowie?
Bright Eyes?
Mitski?
Puscifer?
Scott Walker?

Headed up to Seattle to finally play Tomb Raider: The Temple of Fire tomorrow!

Going to be a surreal experience hearing dialogue I wrote spoken back to me.

If any Lara fans have questions or comments about the game, let me know — I’ll answer what I can!

This one’s for the Portland (karaoke) feed:

@babyketten.bsky.social is here!

Haven’t really been into wrestling since I was a kid (Coco B Ware 4 ever) but went to Smackdown in Portland last night and I think Pretty Deadly may have brought me back to the ring.

I’d watch these boys every night if I could.

One of my more eccentric playlists is films set in the future, in chronological (fictional) order.

It begins with IT! THE TERROR BEYOND SPACE (1958) set in 1973 and ends with TIME MACHINE (2002) set in 802,701.

Both PACIFIC RIM and TIMECOP 2 are set in 2025.

Use this information as you see fit
