My AI anecdote is that I’m writing a story script for a high profile IP project featuring a virtual assistant and received the note: “don’t use the word ‘AI’ in the script because the word is toxic now, plus people will assume it’s giving bad info or evil.”
my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

Just did this and yup, it was turned on for me. Now it's off.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Last night's fundraiser for the Oregon Food Bank was awesome! Tons of local writers came out to read, contribute books & goodies for our raffle prizes, and to donate to the food bank. We raised $1495 for the food bank while having a lot of fun and exchanging a LOT of hugs.

There’s a number of settings in this tab, actually, that you may not be aware are filtering what you can see.
Some of it you might like (filters for bots or engagement farming, for example) but there may be a few in here you didn’t want.

Yeah, this was set to "Hide" in my settings. Fuck right off with that.
If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

Might have to make the drive north just to see this. Until its recent acquisition by the Confederated Tribes, I had spend a not inconsequential amount of time plotting “the perfect crime” for toppling this thing.
If you live in wa. you know this sign...for decades its messages were slanted to the right....but the new owners the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation bought the land in July.
