I haven't played Obra Dinn since its release, so I should probably try it again. When I first played it, we had just completed the French translation (which was a challenge in itself!), so my goal was to make sure that all the clues needed had been kept intact and everything was working properly.

An unsung masterpiece. We localized this one into French, including translation, casting and voice direction. Hilarious script, great translations (if I may say so...), top-notch voice acting. One of the projects we are most proud of.

Il faut aussi garder à l'esprit que ça arrange les agences de traduction de garder les traducteurs et traductrices dans l'ombre, donc dépendants de leurs services. D'après mon expérience, les développeurs et éditeurs ne rechignent que très rarement à créditer les traducteurs.

Beau combat, que l'on soutient de tout coeur.
Cela dit, en plus de 25 ans de carrière, nous avons été crédités dans 98% des cas pour notre travail de traduction, sans doute parce que l'on travaille en direct avec les développeurs et les éditeurs, sans passer par des agences de traduction.

Note that wasted space can be super useful when it comes to localization, as translation are often longer than source text.
