For 40Ks miniature of the year I voted for Lhykhis, I really love the sculpt, need to buy one but it is on the list of miniatures for next year. The miniature shows to me, the desperation of the Aeldari and their resolve, Lhykhis jumps into the warp time and time again, glancing with She Who Thirst and the other gods, just to save her race. But to get so close to their enemy, to chase the jaws of death so often, it would be insane to think of usually for such a proud race, but alas the depths the Aeldari will go to slow their doom, is beautifully sad. Not perfect, but definitely the best model for 40K this year. And sits at a very comfortable and high 3rd For AoS miniature of the year I voted for Urak Taar the First Daemonsmith. I have a thing about big monsters, and the “First Of a Thing”, also have a love towards dwarfs in any string This is my favourite miniature of the year, especially with the burnt trees, desolate wasteland and the basic nature of it, it’s not too flashy it’s strong, enduring and shows the efficiency of the Helmsmiths, while also showing a desire to show dominance and arrogance, while also the illusion of them thinking they can “control” chaos when merely they are pawns, just like those they bind. Ok, this is actually second place, not because of the narrative, or the story behind it. It just a badass model, the Saturnine Praetor when I saw made me go “So this is how Mech Fans feel.” It’s a beautifully designed but also just screams “Come at me” while also showing a different feeling for each Legion, the Sons of Dorn show a steadfast commitment to their duty, the Salamanders show the blazing power of this legendary armour, and my own personal favourite (the how I’ve painted it) show the slow creeping corruption of the Death Guard, and the traitor legions as a whole. This model is multipurpose both narratively and for gamers, painters and readers. I could easily see this become more than just a Horus Heresy miniature, so that’s why it gets second place to me.

Here, the baddest of baddies.
Saturnine Praetor on a white background, in the colour scheme of the XIVth Legion (14th Legion) a.k.a as the Death Guard. They are standing on a ruin, their fist raised high and the plasma blasted on their gauntlet glowing a blue. Deathshroud terminator, of the XIVth Legion, a.k.a the Death Guard, they are in their post heresy colours, and got their mutations, and sores exposed. They and wielding a power scythe, now know as a manreaper, after exposure to the corruption of the warp. They are wearing green armour, tainted by the warp and their new good Nurgle. With metal chainmail, hanging from their bloated forms. Also they wear a hood, over their helmet, to conceal their former identity and to give the fear of the reaper…. A Plague Monk from the Skaven Range. Wielding two rusty shives with a sickly green cloak. Ready to spread disease and despair among the mortals and enemies of their god. He is standing on a city street which has already felt the effects of his gods power. Thornquol on boneripper, a large model from the Skaven range. They are standing on a polluted battlefield with decay, rats and a large green river of an unknown substance, most likely liquid warp stone. Autumn leaves and greens cover the base Boneripper is a mass of botched stitches, muscle and flesh, with metal pipes, mechanisms and weapons attached to its frame. Its owner Thornquol is an insane grey seer, yelling abuse and orders at his pet, while flinging spells and insults to his enemies. Both come together to make a deadly team of insanity and brawn.

I found all the colourful screws, enjoying the game so far it has some rough edges, and some glaring issues but nothing unplayable.

Now you have seen what you get, and if you are not a masochist like me, you don’t have to do this painful collection.

100 damn screws.

I didn’t realise how many of my models have some form of slime, water or toxic waste on them. Until now.

Thanquol and Boneripper, from Age of Sigmar, his base is a toxic pool with water running in between the rocks, with some Autumnal leaves and ferns. Grey Seer, from age of sigmar on a bell with rats pouring out from it. With a small pool of toxic water/warpstone energy. A Redemptor Dreadnaught from 40,000. Wading his way through a small pool of icy cold water, his base is wintery with small dead tuffs of grass, that are yellow, with some spots of blood, friend or for? Who knows. Lord of Virulence from 40,000 trudging over a sandy wasteland with green slime dripping from his tubing and claws, onto the floor. Leaving behind a trial for daemon engines following him.

Cheers, I used two of the Praetors from the Warhammer community site as the inspiration one from @lukeshaw.bsky.social and one from @petethewargamer.bsky.social both are beautiful in their own ways.

Snake from metal gear saying “Minecraft has changed”, which is a play on the iconic quote “War, has changed” use when me and my friend group saw the new Minecraft changes (copper tools etc) The news reporter from the Simpson’s saying “I for one, welcome our new Skaven overlords” bit more ambiguous due to the meme usually is used in different ways, but usually involve the imagine mentioning about said thing is now their overlords, as opposed to what might’ve been there before, or might be something new.

When I saw this Null-Khemist it did give me Big Daddy vibes from Bioshock, which is extremely cool.

It’d be cool to see someone do a minor kitbash or paint one up as a Big Daddy, wouldn’t need much, but still, a cool idea.
The Null-Khemist for AoS, model recently announced, with a balloon like device on the top, with brass armour “floating” on a pipe. A Big Daddy from Bioshock, in brass armour, with a large drill and a diving helmet with a load of visors.

I all-over wash my marines and I think they look pretty good as well.

I won’t sit here and say they’re Golden Demon but I don’t want to paint like that, I enjoy chill painting rather than trying to make a living/impress others, if my models look good and people enjoy them that’s a plus.

This was my first codex, and I loved it.

This book along with these three models, did help me out through my teens, and since then it has given me a platform to ramble about interests, issues and I’ve made a lot of friends as well.
