It’s wrestling’s perennial problem and affects pretty much every company today, I don’t think you can pick on AEW. They do elevate people too (Takeshita, Fletcher, Bandido, Swerve?) but equally made odd choices (like using CC to put over Moxley against rather than cement Takeshita and Fletcher).

I can see Finlay getting lost in the shuffle in NXT, EVIL will be in a tag team with Nakamura within 5 minutes, and Hiromu will just be having fun in NOAH I guess. Forces NJPWs hand to try new things which isn’t a bad thing.

Exactly, it’s not a great thing for them to reveal. Basically people get over and we have no idea what to do with them.

If he loses, he does look like an idiot. I assume he doesn’t lose just yet (working on the idea people will think he’ll lose because he’s told people he’s retiring). But it also then means if Gunther loses, it kind of ends that retirement gimmick fairly abruptly.

I also don’t know why we just never got a big feud between Bowens and Caster. That would have got them much more over than whatever this terrible never ending angle has been.
