People also forget, Heyman had the Levesque NXT perspective of having to create new stars because his top talent was always being raided. You can’t stick with the same guys if they’re moving on every 18 months.

Basically a polite way to say, he’s not being employed by anybody else and is on his own.

That and Fiona saying her time was up when she literally brought all the heat on herself from nowhere.

It’s wrestling’s perennial problem and affects pretty much every company today, I don’t think you can pick on AEW. They do elevate people too (Takeshita, Fletcher, Bandido, Swerve?) but equally made odd choices (like using CC to put over Moxley against rather than cement Takeshita and Fletcher).

This is is like, what 94/95 or so? If so, he’s 36. 36 years old. He’s younger than Bret Hart.

Plus Stat needs a chase. She never really had one, winning from nowhere in that four way.
January 22, 2026 at 5:09 PM
Surprised they haven’t busted out Battle of the Belts for this one. It’s more that than some of the actual Battle of the Belts shows.

I can see Finlay getting lost in the shuffle in NXT, EVIL will be in a tag team with Nakamura within 5 minutes, and Hiromu will just be having fun in NOAH I guess. Forces NJPWs hand to try new things which isn’t a bad thing.
January 22, 2026 at 10:49 AM
Exactly, it’s not a great thing for them to reveal. Basically people get over and we have no idea what to do with them.
January 21, 2026 at 5:23 PM
The trajectory of him, Andrade and Black over the last few years is very funny. Lots of moving about to repeatedly do the same things over and over, rarely learning.

I think your takedown of Impact might be your finest moment ever on the pod 😅👏
January 21, 2026 at 12:49 PM
If he loses, he does look like an idiot. I assume he doesn’t lose just yet (working on the idea people will think he’ll lose because he’s told people he’s retiring). But it also then means if Gunther loses, it kind of ends that retirement gimmick fairly abruptly.

Do they hear themselves when they say these kind of things?

Another shoulder injury??
January 19, 2026 at 10:01 PM
Agree with this. Alvarez can be critical but is on everything, especially NXT!
January 19, 2026 at 4:37 PM
Hilarious watching this considering what then happened. Makes them look like idiots who just tried to power play and didn’t think it through.
January 19, 2026 at 4:34 PM
Up there with Brian Kendrick, slightly ahead of Jake Atlas.
January 18, 2026 at 10:09 PM
To be fair, it can be another moment when he returns to join them. For now, they can have fun six man tags with Top Flight/Sky, Rush/Andretti and other, LFI etc.
January 18, 2026 at 8:56 PM
Saturday wasn’t live, it was taped on Wednesday so they’d have known then for him to not be in the vignette.
January 18, 2026 at 8:54 PM
Christian in 2021 suffers from not being in front of a crowd. Edge in 2010 was big too.
January 18, 2026 at 6:02 PM
I also don’t know why we just never got a big feud between Bowens and Caster. That would have got them much more over than whatever this terrible never ending angle has been.
January 18, 2026 at 9:40 AM
It is another Andrade situation?
January 18, 2026 at 8:10 AM
I remember a mate of mine having this as a kid, brings back a lot of memories this show. Surprised WWE or AEW haven’t tried to go back, looks great for a show.
January 17, 2026 at 10:03 PM
Do a manager swap!
January 17, 2026 at 9:22 PM
I imagine the situation with Ospreay may also be affecting it too. They want to be sure, he’ll definitely be back for the show and to launch the announcement with him at the forefront.
