She/her. Editor of lots of things; writer of often-queer stories about fae, witches, and love, such as Lava Red Feather Blue and the other Eidolonia books.
In some ways it's easier as a writer—less to keep track of from book to book! 😄

I do think so, and that makes sense. Slang changes faster than any other aspect of language, though, so I expect the memory of that slur will fade before long. And possibly we'll come up with a new catch-all term anyway!

Yes! It’s not only easier to use, but I resonate with the “not mainstream” meaning.

It’s still great to have labels for gay, bi, trans, ace, etc., so that those specific experiences can be discussed too. It’s just odd to me that’s there’s this resistance, among some, to having a catch-all term.

I first heard of her when I was listening to a classical music station while working, and got transfixed by this ethereal, mysterious choral music. I looked up the station playlist and learned it was by Hildegard of Bingen. So was curious when I later saw that novel!

I read that a few years ago and loved it! Even though stories about saints are not usually my thing. 😀 Hildegard was a remarkably different kind of saint, and I see why people of all sorts of spiritual stripes have embraced her.
