Yeah, when they get done with foreigners and trans people, they're coming for us atheists. I've been trying to sound the alarm, but I'm a nobody in the grand scheme, so others are gonna have to organize. I'll join the fight when the time comes, though.

I think it's a little different than that. Average people who aren't terrible are leaving Christianity in droves, leaving behind all the awful people who want to use their version of adult make believe to inflict terrible harm upon anyone who doesn't validate their beliefs.

Everyone has an opinion. If pixies were a pervasive bad idea that some used to justify harmful actions against others, there would likely be people out there calling themselves apixists.

I call it socially reinforced adult make believe.
But that's no reason to celebrate the deaths of people who have fallen victim to that. (Or to harm them in the first place.)
Of course, leaders who have engaged in genocide should be tried and punished harshly upon conviction for their crimes.

Third, your example of paying someone to fall in love isn't a parallel to the question at hand. Instead, you should be asking if you could pay someone to come to the belief that someone else was in love with them (despite no outward demonstration of that love from the other person).

Would paying someone to develop a sincere belief -- and resulting relationship -- with Xenu be just as valid as a sincere belief in the Christian god? And if so, wouldn't that, ironically, invalidate the results since the target god in question doesn't matter?

Second, why are we only discussing the Christian god, when my atheism extends to all god-claims made by humans? Why not Vishnu? Or Thor? Or Xenu?

First, tell me how one knows the difference between me "having a relationship with God" and me "imagining I'm having a relationship with God?" Even if my belief was sincere, it could still be misguided.
