It occurred to me that the right that's ultimately protected by the First Amendment is the right to be wrong. Have the wrong ideas? Wrong speech? Wrong religion? Wrong news stories? The FA drives us to forgive those wrongs, instead of using govt to "correct" them.

Why I hate Trump, without using insults or policy decisions:
1. He has no respect for boundaries, be they personal, political, or societal
2. He refuses to update his knowledge base with new information. (e.g. Low-flow toilets)
3. He lacks credibility (e.g. "I know more," "people are saying")

The problem with political violence isn't the politics, it's the violence. We've created for ourselves a society that celebrates using violence to solve problems, and then steeped ourselves in an ocean of guns that makes that violence easy to perpetuate.

I'm atheist, which means I don't buy into the thinking that there are gods, powers, entities, or events that most religious types might label as "supernatural."
But there's another aspect: whenever I'm exposed to a religion's history, writings, and teachings, all I see is an expression of humanity.

Empathy: "I know if I broke my leg, I'd want people to bring me food, run my errands, and help around the house. I should do that."

This is one step away from three dystopia that Orwell tried to warn us about. It could quickly go from "you're hating on him too much" to "you're not cheering him on enough."

America has officially entered its Dark Ages. God help us all—because there's no longer any reason to believe Congress or the courts or media will. We have lost our way to a degree I never thought possible, and I am not going to pretend to have any answers about how we find our way back. We may not.
