Today, hiked to Delicate Arch, then in the evening, "Park Avenue" Ended up near the Windows in a nice set of shelters for star gazing. Did an impromptu activation of Arches NP US-0004 after sunset.

I usually play leapfrog with the 4:30 - 5:15 pace groups, though if there's an incident reported, I'll head up/down trail to investigate.

There are frequent runner stumbles and usually the person is fine, but the ones around them are rattled. If they aren't fine, I try to help/summon EMTs.

I monitor both, but prefer the 800 because communication is succinct. People talk only when there is inform to convey, e.g., there is no need to self-identify, no signal reports, etc.

The green radio goes in my backpack, microphone clipped to my hydration pack. Yaesu in the handlebar bag.
