More Japanese artists coming to Bluesky means I won't have to use Pixiv as much to keep up with things and I can stop running into the issue of where I see a random piece of art and go "Wow that's really great what else have theeeyand that's a kid getting railed by a fat dude. Great."

heads up that bluesky doesnt show posts from other languages by default on your timeline, and its cutting you off from a lot of the community
go to bsky.app/settings/lan... and deselect any language from this setting, or else you might not see any of the new japanese users at all!

Bluesky might not have as overt a bot problem as Twitter does, but it's definitely there. I keep getting followed by accounts that look to be maybe 24-48hrs old, are following 5k+ other people and have ONE post, usually advertising /something/, either commissions or a ko-fi

I have stubbornly sat there refreshing a Twitch stream that had the gall to give me multiple minutes of ads randomly until it gave me 30 seconds worth, even if the refreshing might have taken longer than those ads would have played for

I want people to think more critically over AI and understand WHICH AI is the kind ruining our environment (it's genAI). AI in general has been around for decades and fear mongering over anything labeled "AI" is doing more harm than good. The AI that detects cancer isn't genAI.
