"Raincoats aren't cute..." Was kind of expecting them to be Morthface branded xD #shumatsu_touring

So who did post apocalypse Akihabara better? This or Heavenly Delusion/Tengoku Daimakyo? #shumatsu_touring

Quite liking the show so far. Just not a fan of the backgrounds which look a bit AI generated and the songs our heroines sing. Unique endings are fun too. Wonder whenever shows do this the staff are groaning, "Oh no, more work..."😅

Can't leave out the Steins;gate Yanagimori shrine location although the actual shrine from the game/show was moved to Ueno.

AI radio keeping survivors of a post-apocalypse world company... Pretty melodramatic. Kind of reminds me of Fallout except those were actually run by people. Human run internet radio has better song selections than algorithm/AI selected ones imo.

Nice how it touches on AI and how once you go outside the scope of what it was trained for, it's pretty much useless.

Haha, this time they put one of the Aobuta theme songs in it. Pretty fun guessing the Anime songs.

An episode on the history of Akihabara huh... #shumatsu_touring

Was pretty surprised to hear Sword Art Online's OP "Crossing Field" suddenly playing during the Akiba episode though, haha. Why that song in particular and not a cover too...

Started Shuumatsu Touring ("Touring After The Apocalypse". Very different vibes from Girls Last Tour. Cheery, girls doing silly things, vibrant colours although backgrounds look partially AI generated. Enjoying the light-hearted music and how ED changes to show their trip.

Picked a random Japan walking tour video that wasn't usual touristy spots and just learned Yotsugi is the hometown of Captain Tsubasa's creator... Not a fan of the football Anime but enjoyed the video games, haha. Skytree fans might like the vid.

Haha, 12 years later another season of Minami-ke. Guess shows from 80s get remakes so why not. Was a pretty fun "cute girls being silly" slice-of-life show.

Never been to Nippori but seems pretty touristy. Maybe because one of the stops on the Skyliner from Narita. Large shrine with familiar trail of Torii gates. Nice to see Ueno again too since I stayed in the area. Recognised the buildings right away xD

Animal Crossing "Happy Room" dioramas coming out end of this month look good. Not sure I would play "gacha" at 1500 Yen (£8) per blind box though😅

Came across Toei Kyoto Studio Park while browsing walking tour videos of Japan. The Youkai Parade caught my attention but otherwise probably won't visit. Tokusatsu fans would probably enjoy it though.

Patrols out in force in Shibuya as Halloween night kicks off. Don't want riots kicking off like that one time. Lots of live streams going on there too.

Bought nail clippers from the conbini in Japan long ago similar to these and only just realised you can slip them out of its white guard... Might have been in the packaging instructions but thought, just a nail clipper so never read it😅

Been seeing quite a lot of hype about Ball x Pit so gave it a try. Really is fun. Arcade style gameplay means just pick up and play. Who would have thought Alleyway/Breakout with roguelike elements and a bit of base building would complement so well.

Had no issues with keyboards until switching from common membrane to mechanical. Now have to clean out unresponsive keys every so often like with the Joycons that had drift issues. Still prefer typing on a mechanical though.

Also interesting to see Anime themed food and drink in mainstream supermarkets now instead of just Asian ones.

£3 for a rice ball is pretty steep compared to 100 Yen which is fairly much Japan's equivalent of a £1...

"Yoyogi Tower" another signature of Shinkai movies... and next to it Kabukicho Tower.
October 22, 2025 at 1:59 AM
Came across a Japan, Yotsuya walking tour vid which fans of Makoto Shinkai's Kimi no Na wa/Your Name might enjoy. Still quite a few Anime tourist fans around during the night. Funnily enough there was a Dandadan cosplay at the shrine xD

Haha, they're selling Nuka-Cola to promote the upcoming Fallout S2. Only in US of course... Seems the brand behind it is used to doing these kind of collabs.

Just realised how much One Piece's Poneglyphs resemble the Keystone from Laputa... Keystone already available as a paperweight from the Ghibli Museum and now One Piece following suit but bigger.
