Praying for Ahmed al Ahmed to have successful surgeries & a swift recovery. He stepped up at great personal cost to save strangers. Truly a hero. We need more like him in the world.
Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, has been identified as the heroic civilian who disarmed one of the Sydney terrorists. He was shot twice by the second gunman firing from a bridge and is now undergoing surgery for his injuries.

Finally popped this in, and for anyone interested, GKIDS / Toho handles the film’s intentionally relentless and overwrought on-screen text signifiers way better than the Funimation release, leaving the original in-frame Japanese kanji with the English translation in a similar English font.

Got dressed and made myself presentable all for the sole purpose of venturing out by bus to the post office so that I could drop off our mail-in ballots (because I’m a bum who can’t do things on time), and that was just way too much work, aw shucks, overstimulated from everyday outings again, smh!
