Anonymous American Gestapo ICE agents chase a local flower shop owner into the woods to abduct them.

Neighborhood bystanders follow them into the forest and film them, harass them, and shame them until they leave.

very funny that some of the same people who spent years calling anyone sympathetic to BLM a “racial essentialist” are now up in arms that a ugandan-born south asian man would describe himself as african and asian because, of course, you can only choose one

Excellent article by @adamliptak.bsky.social @nytimes.com

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson "is alarmed at what the court is doing and is sounding that in a different register, one that is less concerned with the appearance of collegiality and more concerned with how the court appears to the public.”

This is what I’m so worried about
I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

A journalistic principle I’ve come to believe in quite strongly, thanks to experience of the Sony and Podesta hacks, is that bar for publishing stories based on *hacked* material should be quite high. It really should be unambiguously newsworthy to clear it.

This story should not have been published. They hint at an accusation (Mamdani said he is black to get into a fancy college) they can't back up. That this was published tells me that Mamdani's most important opponent may not be Cuomo or Adams but a paper whose NEWS section will run stuff like this.
You know, when I heard that all of our personal data had been hacked, I didn't expect the first major use of it to be the NYT trying to fuck over Zohran but maybe I'm naive www.nytimes.com/2025/07/03/n...

The New York Times will collaborate with Nazi criminals who break into universities in an attempt to undermine democratic candidates, destabilize elections, fuel Islamophobia, and continue the attacks on higher education. They don’t *cover* the crime, they PARTICIPATE in it.

For 6 months, Dem leaders have downplayed or refused to frontally address many of Trump's worst abuses by saying those are "distractions" from the Dems focusing on economic issues. But as Trump's tax bill is being voted on, Jeffries is attacking a Dem ...over a phrase that Dem doesn't even use.
Hakeem Jeffries on Mamdani: "'Globalizing the intifada' by way of example is not an acceptable phrasing. He's gonna have to clarify his position on that as he moves forward."

The purpose of asking Mamdani over and over to condemn “globalize the intifada” is to create the impression he actually said that, and he didn’t.

But the smear campaign is working. Many people now think he did say that. It’s insidious, dishonest, and essentially racist.
