the sound code is slightly more advanced than the hidden music player in Galaxian (NES), in the sense that it offers 32 different notes (instead of 16) and variable-length notes (instead of fixed length).

it includes support for "playing" "music", which in this case is a list of "square 1 note, square 2 note, how many frames until the next note".

note that "playing music" in this case means that is the only thing the game does: execution halts until it is over.

the game does not appreciate having these addresses frozen. i do not know what they do yet but it really does not like it.
