Thank you -- Operation PARRIS, which violates international as well as U.S. law and breaks a fundamental promise to refugees, is not getting enough attention.

Not denying that building a lot and easing zoning are not part of the solution, but that does not suffice.

I find Mejia somewhat vague on short-term policy. OTOH, she is a proven highly effective operator instrumental in getting a $15/hr minimum wage and family leave passed in NJ. The right long-term goals coupled with pragmatism in present is a winning combo. I hope its hers. end

But the now vs. long-term divide between Malinowski/Mejia carries through to other areas.

Malinowski is for "Medicare for all who want it," probably the most plausible path the single-payer.

Mejia is for Medicare for All, which won't happen this side of a revolution. 5/

I like Mejia and I hope my vote was wrong. I hope strengthening the more unequivocal, hardline wing of the party helps Dems curb the fascism when they have House and possibly Senate. 4/

And Malinowski was posting about effective strings to attach to funding.

If you're for abolishing ICE, what to do right now? 3/

I viewed Malinowski vs. Mejia as near-term vs. long-term.

I voted for Malinowski b/c I thought he's better equipped to help Dems put effective curbs on ICE etc. NOW.
I agree that ICE should be abolished. But that's not going to happen immediately. 2/

This is absolutely true,

New Jersey suburbanites, he argues, didn’t suddenly turn into democratic socialists. But they think the Democratic establishment has been feckless...

See also GHWB and Willie Horton. But did Bush need that sleaze?
