I used to fry the everlovin shit outta my hair w/ a flat iron in highschool (almost a year ago) cuz I felt like I couldn't have curly hair & be scene or emo. Now I rarely even touch the iron cuz I don't like how I look w/ str8 hair as much. That was a very toxic point in my life 4 me.

Honestly, I would talk about it more, but I'm not that educated, I'm half white so idk if I even have the experience to talk about it, and no one around me but my sibling (we're half black, so prolly why) cares about it when I do. I swear I'm not just sayin this for social points. I genuinely care.

And the worst part is that almost everyone (mostly white ppl) I tell this to doesn't get it unless they're also mixed. It's so isolating.
I wish I wasn't mixed sometimes. Ever since I was a small child, I felt like I was simultaneously too black and too white for everyone and everything, even online. I'm in an unescapable purgatory of never fitting in no matter what I do. I don't even know what to call myself other than mixed.
