Britain is doing well btw, although because most of our renewable generation is wind, it is not as stable. Can be as low as 5%, can be 60%.

If a Reform government kills it in favour of (imported!) coal, as they promise, it will be a huge self-own purely to spite the libs.

This is no longer "woke vs. based" this is what you do then you don't want to depend on foreigners for your energy supply. Would have been a very conservative issue in less brain poisoned times.

Renewable sources including hydro already account for 1/3 of the total power generation in China.

It is expected to hit 50% in 5 years

Starting this year their solar+wind part of that 1/3 share is bigger than the hydro one.

Next year the solar component alone will be bigger than hydro.

Thanks. I am in the UK and we way behind America on that curve, but nevertheless for something that, if happens as described, is set to blow up all insurance pricing models there is next no discussion ongoing in the industry.

У нас, кстати, местные авиакомпании считай перестали в сравнении с довоенным временем летать в Китай - им теперь нужно лететь в обход РФ, в то время как китайские авиакомпании до Бр-ки долетают быстрее и дешевле, и съели конкурентов на этом направлении.

Еще, конечно, вариант, это запустить китайские авиакомпании на свой внутренний рынок. Но это такая форма капитуляции в т.ч. и идеологическая, не только экономическая.

В целом в крупных авиакомпаниях (Аэрофлот, конечно, но не только он) возраст флота по мировым меркам все еще небольшой, плюс Иран до сих пор на старых ведрах летает, и они даже не падают. Но летать будут меньше и стоить это будет дороже 100%.
