Not sure how a period of your life can simultaneously be the worst AND the best but that’s how I feel every time I remember being 19-years-old.

Spent yesterday catching up with an ex (it’s been almost 30 years!) and delighted in that, fundamentally, we stayed the same. We’re calmer, cuter, & older, but the same. After days like this I’m overcome by an extreme desire to scoop up my memories and somehow serve them in a cone. Is that poetry?

A little over a decade ago, when my nephew Jack was a toddler, I spent two summers in-between contracts taking care of him and that’s when he started calling me Ya-ya.
And it just so happens that my legal middle name starts with a Y, which makes this nickname no different than yours, Bob.
