Myrrh and the player enter the playground through a colorful, padded corridor filled with punching bags. Myrrh attaches herself to one of the punching bags, and attacks it the way a cat might attack a scratching post, biting and clawing at it. A text box in the corner of the screen displays a story problem: 'Sally has 23 apples. If she gives 4 apples to David, 8 apples to Bob, and 11 apples to Erica, how much longer can Sally survive without putting herself first? A. 6-8 weeks. B. Not much longer.' At the end of one of the playgrounds colorful corridors is the first arcade machine. It's covered in pipes, vents, and light bulbs, with three shiny, purple pipes on the side spewing steam into the air. 'Look!' says Myrrh, peeking around the edge of the frame, 'It's the first game!'
