tbf, the only reason i *do* have a multimeter is that i had to buy one for the lab component of a E&M course in college, and i never threw it away

i also find the version numbering convention for TeX delightfully nerdy - design was frozen at 3.0, next bugfix version was 3.1, then 3.14, then 3.141...

currently it's 3.141592653 (with instructions from Donald Knuth that one absolutely final version π will be released after his death)

complaint about CDG from my recent visit: the TGV station needs much more seating. they've forgotten that people won't show up 20-30 minutes before their train, they're going to show up 2 hours early because everyone thinks "i don't know how long immigration will take, better pick the later train"
