A clinker (hardened ash) detachment resulted in an explosion at Qld's coal powered Callide C3 unit last Friday. On Tuesday Treasurer David Janetzki boasted about his coal generation plan but neglected to mention the incident. Today he admitted he should have. #qldpol youtu.be/AvoKy34QrNo

We loved getting out to The Cherry Tree Wind Farm near Seymour over the weekend, on a tour organiser by Mitchell Community Energy.

Y2R was involved in the early days of this project, backing locals who wanted wind energy built in their region. It took many years and it was worth it.

Our NSW organiser Anna Mackiewicz joined renewables advocates for a tour of the Port Kembla Steelworks this week.

Bluescope is the biggest energy user in the region by far -- powering the steelworks w/ offshore wind represents a massive opportunity to cut pollution + secure manufacturing jobs.

Volunteers across Australia say they've had to form groups to help address renewable energy concerns in their areas.

Communities are pushing for the creation of a series of local energy hubs funded by the Commonwealth to share the responsibility.

Plea for federal funds to grow community trust in renewable zones
Locals in renewable energy hotspots say they have been forced to create their own information groups to address concerns about the rapid energy transition and want the government to pitch in.

This ARENA backed ratings website sounds decent -- having clear, comparable info about landholder payments is a good idea. This should be matched with info about community benefit schemes so neighbours can assess and compare projects too. reneweconomy.com.au/labor-woos-l...
Labor woos landowners with developer ratings pilot, land potential website
The federal government is wooing landowners by launching the Developer Ratings Scheme and funding a website that assess land for wind, solar potential.
