Israel has been undergoing a transformational shift that lisang.bsky.social reveals brilliantly. The political impacts will shape the future course of Israel-Palestine far more than the Trump plan:

The difference, in so far as there is one on the question of Palestine, between the likes of Golan/Lapid, Bennett/Gantz, and Smotrich/Ben-Gvir is *how* Jewish supremacism as a political and legal system ought to be implemented, not *whether* there ought to be a system of supremacism at all.

Thanks to Geoffrey Aronson for this great rundown via ChatGPT on how the US military would have had from "dozens of minutes" to a few hours of advance notice that Israeli aircraft or missiles were heading to strike Qatar:

What’s the connection between these 2 headlines:
• Saudi Arabia is spending trillions on Neom
• Jerome Powell says US neutral interest rate is now higher (picture)

Answer: the more Gulf states invest at home, the higher US borrowing costs get

An absolutely fascinating dive into the socio-cultural & political roots in the US of various strands of Zionism, anti-/counter-Zionism, thru Kahanism and its incarnations in today's Israel

“Israel will soon slow or halt aid into parts of northern Gaza as it begins its Gaza City offensive … even as the UN says the number of aid trucks entering Gaza is far below what is needed.”

I will never understand how American elites managed to convince themselves that uncivil debate — not fascism, not impunity and not widespread indifference to facts — is the defining problem of our time.

How We Brought Respectful Debate Back to The Harvard Crimson’s Editorial Board
To us, the solution is deceptively simple. Universities should create environments where students with different views must talk to one another routinely and establish ground rules that ensure they do so without distractions or prejudgment.

Illiberalism on college campuses isn’t inevitable. At The Crimson, it took only a few months to radically improve.

The Mideast gives the world 3 inputs:
• Energy
• Capital
• Trade routes

It takes 2 prices:
• Oil
• Interest rates

Now we're entering a world of:
• More oil supply
• Less Mideast capital
• Disrupted trade
• Cheaper oil
• Lower rates
