Autogenocide is genocide that a population is coerced to perform on itself. Sometimes, this is a media incited war, often accompanied by wide availability of drugs and weapons to ensure maximum violence. Sometimes this is death by misinformation, as occurred in the US during the Covid pandemic. Sometimes it is destruction of the environment. A lack of healthy food, water and air results in reduced overall life expectancy. A lack of universal health care greatly increases overall deaths. Poor construction of roads, buildings and other infrastructure causes recurring mass death events. Poor planning and funding can prevent emergency responses and increase death tolls in disasters. A lack of regulations, transparency and guidance can make it impossible for people to learn how to not poison themselves and their families. A lack of accountability for corporations and governments leaves people helpless to stop the environmental destruction destroying our health and future. Autogenocide can also include increased autohomicide, which is suicide or other self-destructive behaviours instigated externally. Mass desperation, unemployment, poverty, illness, tragedy, crime, violence, drugs and widely available weapons all encourage self-destruction.
