i can't actually see in front of me rn because my hair has decided to dry this way. i genuinely did not position this way.

a selfie, but instead of my face, you can only see my hair. my hair is parted on my right side, and my headphone cord is showing below my chin. my hair is about shoulder length, medium-ish-brown, and the ends are curling away from my face in a way that looks like i'm part way through a salon appointment, but i promise my hair just does this sometimes. my hair is wavy with a curl to the ends, and i just let it do whatever. which it obviously has done this time.

a shot of some lovely @weltschmerz.bsky.social earrings in a shadow box on my hallway wall. these are brass, with aqua-teal stones. they have lever back ear wires, then a single bezel set gem, then a sun shape with another bezel set gem in the middle, and the bottoms are crescent moon shaped, with the points of the moon toward the floor, and there is another bezel set gem in the hollow created in the center of the moon.

a shot of a second pair of @weltschmerz.bsky.social earrings! these are also brass, with lever back earwires. this set have 2 crescent moon shapes at the top, both point down, the top one has phases of the moon stamped out, while the lower one remains solid. under that is a kind of oval shape, almost like a press on nail, but flat and brass. it has a bezel set blue gem in the center of it. under that is a smaller shape of the same kind, with a smaller bezel set gem also blue. under that is a sun shape with rays, and a teardrop hangs off the bottom. there are also teardrops hanging off the second mooon shape at each point and off the bottom corners of the first nail-shaped piece.

a third set of @weltschmerz.bsky.social earrings! these are again brass with the lever back ear wires. there's a larger sun shape to start, with a bezel set blue gem in the center. then a large upturned crescent moon shape, with a smaller blue gem bezel set into the thickest part if the cresent. under that is a downturned crescent, no gem this time. then a circle shape that has been flattened on the bottom, with a small blue gem bezel set in it. from that hang 3 brass teardrops.

a shot of the 3 shadow boxes on my hallway wall with the other art pieces i have there. the wall itself is white. top to bottom left to right - a blue and white jellyfish ornament, a watercolor clock from a friend's cafepress, an illustration of a girl with red hair dj-ing, (the furnace's thermostat) an illustration piece of nausicaa. a tea towel with an old style 4 blade fan from like the 20s mounted to a canvas frame because it was too pretty to use (also from a friend's store), an illustration piece from the dark crystal (cut off the shot at the bottom). next to that is a cross stitch piece i did of kelpies coming out of the waves, framed like the art it is. above that are the shadowboxes, in a diagonal going toward the door to my office and up to the ceiling. there are a couple pretty beaded moth coasters that i mounted to the wall under the middle and top shadowboxes because i thought they looked good there.

got my birthday present hung up! the fam got me some fun silly halloween plates. my collection GROWS. :3

a close up of the newest plates. a grey tombstone with a black skull and crossbones, a bright orange pumpkin with a traditional happy face, and a ghostie making an :o face. i have hung them on the wall in my office, above my desk, where there was some blank space between my other plates and some framed pumpkin girl art.

the whole collection! i have a cardboard skull and crossbones bust, with some beaded spiders in red and blue above it, then my plates are in a loose formation. i have a happy ghostie with green glasses and his arms out for a hug, a rectangular plate with a spiderweb glaze that a friend made, and the tombstone in a loose row up top. next row, starting below the ghost - a pale orange pumpkin shape that says "BOO", a rectangular frankenstein's monster plate, a round eyeball plate made by the same friend as the spiderweb above it, then my new pumpkin and ghostie. the final row slants up a bit but it has a purple bat, a black cat with white stripes on it's forehead, and a fake shrunken head that i made as part of an art contest on a halloween-devoted forum some years ago. mine has purple hair.

my lunch - ramen with extra spice in the flavour packet, sliced and seared teriyaki porks, mixed veggies, and 2 eggs. yes they're uncooked, i like that. also a pile of hot chili crisp on top.

went to world market. as is inevitable, i spent more than i meant. but i saw a super cute ornament.

a unicorn t rex stradling a rainbow. the rex is lime green with glitter on it's back, the horn is yellow, and the whole thing is done in the colors you get with mercury glass, so it's very saturated and very shiny.

this one is smaller and has an air fryer setting. trying it out. 🤤

the new toaster oven, on the counter where the old one used to be. there is cubed seasoned chicken in the air fryer basket, foil on the drip tray for easy clean up, and a pot holder sitting on the counter in front. the machine is on, so everything has a red-orange glow.

ah, sheeeaht. i may have found the weird dissappearing leak. the output connections from the water heater are horridly corroded. so it may disappear and reappear because the corrosion may be a leak that self seals and then breaks and leaks again. god fucking dammit i hate our hard water!

a shot of the lower connection of the water heater. there's a flexible connection that screws to the copper pipe. this shows the corrosion on that connection and a hard water deposit on the top of the water heater, in a position that makes sense for a leak dripping off that connection. there's a drip in the connection corrosion that would be the drop off point.

there need to be more halloween specific emojis. anyway, hippo birdies! have some cake!

another goth cake, this one meant to look like a cross between a gothic cathedral and a castle. it has nlack base icing with probably fondant architecture added on. there's red mirror glaze on the bottom tiers along with piping to look like spider webbing. some red yarn hangs off the ornate cake stand to make it look like the glaze is overflowing. there are cranberries and red grape bunches all over the cake and table.

an over the top gothic cake. it's 3 tiers, nlack base frosting with what are probably fondant details picked out in antiqued silver, made to look like a gothic cathedral. it's on an equally ornate cake stand, with blood red roses scattered about and red candles in ornate silver stands lit around it.

a black and white cake with black candles that were just put out with rivuletting smoke. it's a vintage style cake where the base is white buttercream and the piping is all black and ruffle-y and ornate. it's on a tall black cake stand.

i found some embroidery thread that i think is as close as i can get. i may raid my mom's thread stash. my sweater is a grey-green-sage thing. so it's hard to have a match.
