I agree that dietary recommendations should be regularly revisited and a modest increase above 0.8g/kg/d may be individually warranted. But high intakes produce more than expensive pee. The potential expense is in flirting with resulting CKD.

No. Baby wipes do not disinfect. There are some foam hand sanitizer products that contain a soaplike ingredient that will break down the "shell" that encases norovirus. Bleach inactivates norovirus but it's too harsh for routine hand use. Bleach wipes are best for non-porous surfaces.

Reminder!!! Alcohol based hand sanitizer isn’t effective against norovirus. Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

I lived through the Cold War, the "turbulent 1960s", the OPEC oil embargo, the resulting recession, the S&L crisis, and the farm crisis. Seriously? This is far worse.

There are doctors who undermine patient trust living extravagant lifestyles and making a choice to become willing participants with the worst in the system. Patients are (at the least) justified in their suspicions.

We (doctors) are the part of the healthcare delivery system patients see. They don't see the plan managers or facility administrators. Most of us work hard to gain trust while we work in a system that undermines patient trust. At the same time... 🧵

If they have not yet done so, they will also toss out “tangos” when referencing who got “double-tapped” at sea. My experience treating veterans taught me that the ones who use combat jargon usually had non-combat jobs. I saw a lot of 6’3”, 275-pound “tunnel rats” in that crowd.

It's ironic that the regime is using the same reasoning the German submarine high command used that became the driving force for the US to enter WWI. Prior to that, Wilson was committed to the US remaining neutral.

It's good, but it also puts groups in silos. "My state is vaccine friendly" fosters "I've got mine" division. Vaccine friendly states need to advance becoming points of access for those whose states are restrictive. We're in this (immunologically) together.

The White House throwing Admiral Bradley under the bus for Hegseth may be the catalyst for ranking officers to step up. Maybe?

I hope things have changed for DSA. I found infighting and tankie demagoguery. I'm not counting them out. But this was my 2018-2020 experience.

My father never went into detail about his wartime experiences. I found several reunion books after he died and dove into his DD-214. The vets I served at the VA would occasionally open up.

No worries about our morning traffic. No harm. Have an awesome day!
