We do believe the term 'young' to fit the audience reasonably well. However, because we don't want to exclude ECRs who might be older, we do try to use the term early-career researcher over the term 'young' in our communication (other than our name). [3/3]

We aim to create a community where ECRs can present, talk, and vent among peers without worrying about how they come across to more senior academics. We see your point that 'young' might not be the ideal term to use, given that there might be ECRs that wouldn't identify as 'young'. [2/3]

You’re right that ‘young’ might not be the perfect term. However, we focus on early-career researchers that are into meta-science rather than on all researchers that are new to the field (who might indeed be more senior). Unofficially we welcome researchers/students up to +/- 5 years post PhD [1/3]
