Happening now: at Kedzie and 40th, where Border Patrol agents just opened fire on rapid response this afternoon. A woman CFD says they found after the incident is reported in fair condition.

A growing number of outraged neighbors have gathered across from ICE/CBP agents who have closed Kedzie.

Thanks for your kindness

Someone found my venmo and started sharing that for support (jon_stegenga) and then I started a new campaign through givebutter officially for the lens since people were asking for a place to give. 🤷🏻 givebutter.com/Ad8piB

A son received a phone call from his aunt today saying his mother was taken by ICE on September 26th while she was at work selling tamales off South Pulaski Road in Broadview. She has a valid work visa through December 2026 and is currently waiting for a court date for her green card.

These pepper balls aren't just an irritant; they can cause plenty of damage when aimed directly at faces or other fragile areas. This is what one did to a protester's lip last Friday.

I'm not exactly sure how it all is categorized. Ice agents aren't supposed to have the ability to arrest US citizens. Reports show that two people taken have been released this evening maybe more since. I think there was a total of about five protesters taken by ICE into the facility

Yes he was one of three people detained at this moment.

At the Broadview ICE facility, a woman stood in front of a van & was shoved down, then pepper sprayed. Nearly passing out, she was helped across the street when an ICE agent ran at her put arm around her throat. She was arrested, taken behind the fence, & later transported by 🚑 to a hospital.

ICE shot and killed a man in the Chicago suburbs last week. In the days since, we've seen a laundry list of escalating violent behavior from the feds: reckless driving, destroyed property, dawn raids, intimidation and threats against reporters, witnesses assaulted and threatened with pepper spray.
