“Mx” pronounced like “Mix”
@yrhtek.bsky.social
We are on Native land. They/Them. Cat lover. Crafter. Folk and courtly dancer. Navigating ADHD. Disabled. Pursuing a Bachelor’s of Social Work. House witch. Mostly an indoor cat.
Thing is, I’ve no idea yarn size or hook size on the original, & just made mine in whatever I had, & I’ve no idea if the original was a commercial pattern, nor when it was made, to avoid stepping on someone’s commercial interests. I would also need to give it a nicer name than “Red Great-Granny Sq.”

Well, that’s a first. I wonder if that was chat-me-up blocking me or a mod stepping in? Can other people see the whole thread?

Hang in there, friend. 🫂 Is this something you have to follow through on, or can you pivot your plan?

I actually already looked it up, but I wanted to know your definition, since you are so adamant that we’ve never been an empire. This doesn’t disprove what I said. It’s more complex than yes or no, and that’s okay. Denying our history doesn’t change it.

And if you’re talking definitions, define the word.

I never actually said we were/are an empire, in direct opposition to your statement. I talked about our history, which shows we had/have some empire-building tendencies, whether or not we define ourselves as such. It’s not a black & white issue, & THAT is my point. Why do you care if we are or not?

There’s a difference between “could qualify as” and “is considered.” Your reaction seems strong for the subject.

Thank you!

The US did conquer the land we reside on, and take territories, so in technical terms, we could qualify as empire. & we have used our influence & power to dominate the political & economic landscape of the world since we rose as a world power, as much as possible. Not proud of it, but it’s true.

Wow! Almost halfway there! $500/$1200 Thank you!

I help run an annual science fiction & fantasy convention, & I’ve never seen a panel broken down that specifically. That might be a difference between professional & fan-run conventions, but it feels icky.

Good luck.

I would gently push back.

You’re not a man.

I don’t understand why they’ve chosen to select 10 men & 10 women, versus say, 7-10 men, 7-10 women, & up to 6 people of other genders. If the goal is balanced perspectives, that would be a more inclusive approach that doesn’t shove NBs into a binary.

I set them up last night and they are **almost** dry. I’m itching to get them on my needles!

And if you misread UK as US, the US has territories like Guam and Puerto Rico because we also had/have designs on empire building.

Have fun and good luck, you got this!

YouTube, to the rescue!

Focus on having all the parts you want first, since you’ve got a beautifully expressive character, then return to the nose when you have time. Rushing it will only add stress, & increase the chance of a hard to cover up mistake. Fur suits are things you keep coming back to & refining. You got this!
November 25, 2025 at 4:38 PM
I’m leaning equine from the wide set of the nostril depressions & rounded nose. If that’s the case, you might be able to get there by doing a careful shave of the fur near her nose, followed by applying a filler to cover the netting under the fur & a paint job. For a canid, slap a cast nose on top.
