Followed this lot up today with Godzilla Vs Biollante (1989) which was good but suffered from not having the fantastic Biollante in it more. Look at her - amazing piece of art and monster making! #filmsky

After finishing the films, felt only right to read the Gundam vs Ideon manga. As crossovers go, it’s very entertaining and ties the two universes together really well with lovely art by Yuuichi Hasegawa

Ended up just double barreling this and Emma last night. Two solid but very different films. Joy and Goth are totally mesmerising, it’s shot so swiftly and pointed that I was surprised that this is de Wilde’s only film so far which is a totally shame. Every facial reaction in this is fantastic

Really really dug this. The DNA of Gundam is clearly there but it’s also very much its own being. I could listen to this sound design of this all day everyday.

There’s usually a point where work gets a wee bit quieter at the end of the year and I use it to indulge in movie watching. These two are first up for me this year I think
