"One who is not wise himself cannot be wisely advised"
--Niccolo Machiavelli, 1513

Opinionated purple centrist
It's dissociation that would be needed, not simply firing. To Trump, Miller is indispensable, as Miller reflects a potent and critical sector of Trump's MAGA base. I just can't see Trump dissociating himself from Miller. On the other hand, firing Miller from a cannon...

That's how it appears. Assuming Netflix sues, it will make for an interesting court case and yet another example of Trump extorting a company, paid for by our taxpayer $.

Translation the Republicans want Warner Brothers to go to their GOP oligarch so they can control the propaganda pushed at the American people. #WeThePeople cannot allow this to happen!

Excellent piece!
So startling: "we created the nation’s largest federal law enforcement agency and didn’t give it the power to have the internal affairs capacity that one would expect at even a mid-size local police department."

Oh right, you are correct.

Was that the same hotel that initially refused to book ICE until the Trump Admin threatened it? No hotel would want to be a magnet for protests, and this is exactly why.

Trump doesn't wait for the evidence. Americans who elected Trump considered many things in their critically important vote, like how this very impulsive, egomaniacal, sociopathic and unstable man holds the nuclear codes...

When Tillis criticized Trump's Greenland-acquisition approach last week, the criticism was of Stephen Miller, not Trump. What the news media left out of the Tillis clip, was Tillis saying that he would vote for Trump again (!!). That's either cowardice or "Can't fix stupid," or both.

Trump is mentally ill. Sociopathic, narcissistic, egomaniacal, delusional, (apparent) pedophile. That should be enough for #25A.

I prefer to say "This is what comes from your Trump vote." But how does one say that on a social media platform without financially supporting either Trump (Truth Social) or Musk (X)? Are there any America-First social media outlets that aren't MAGA-Trumpcult? We're just preaching to the choir here.

Ted Budd's servility to Trump is so extreme it's downright embarrassing. It's like his decades-long suppressed ego is now erupting with Trump's approval of him. It's sad, really.

NC can thank gerrymandering for both Senators. Ted Budd is incorrigible, subservient, and useless; good candidate for #PresidentialKneepads. Tillis had the skill to be a great mediator but can't get himself there; his history of piss-poor Trump confirmations & failed oversight will be his legacy.

Has anyone seen the video from the woman wearing a pink jacket on the sidewalk, who seems to be recording on her phone?

I'm actually surprised and impressed with people's self-restraint, but agree that it can't hold up with continuing provocations. The Trump-cynical side of me says that TrumpMiller are itching for a retaliatory event against their goons so they can start even bloodier protest crackdowns.

I agree, DHS needs a complete rework. Portions of it are critical to US nat'l security, e.g. Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency, TSA, FEMA. Classic border protection and customs enforcement are important. But Trump-thugs and head goons have to go!

Reminds me of Steve Bannon's "Flood the zone with shit" because the media is so "dumb and lazy, they can only focus on one thing at a time."

US Presidents previously encouraged Iranian protestors, only to dash the hopes and lives of those protestors when the US did nothing effective to bring down the regime. Trump went further in his encouragement by threatening intervention, but hasn't yet done anything but talk. #Iran #IranProtests

I'm admittedly paranoid about all Trump-Putin communications but think the recent long convo Trump & Vlad included Vlad's strategic advice on Greenland and Ukraine. Both see Greenland as a way for Trump to disengage from Europe and undermine NATO while helping Vlad conquer Ukraine.

Well, here in the United States, the US Constitution is our security guarantee and it’s not holding up.
