Nintendo's game output as of late has actually felt very GameCube coded for that matter. Weird out of the box ideas that often end up being controversial for one reason of another.

That said, if you have the chance, definitely try to get through Remastered. It's looks great, but it might not hit as hard if you go from 4 back to Remastered.

You could prolly get away with going right to Prime 4, since it's mostly disconnected story-wise from the OG Trilogy (If anything, it's more connected to Hunters and Fed Force).

Making an overly talkative and handholdy NPC be one of your first impressions of the game was definately a choice. Especially given the series this is and with how quiet Nintendo has been on this game up to this point.

My guess is this ends up around Prime 3 quality when it's all said and done. Still a good game but with some new additions and changes that are a bit of a mixed bag.

Someone shared the scan for the guy and it outright says he's talkative. That implies to me it's a specific "quirk" with him and other troopers won't be as grating. Also looks like most of the game will still be you and Samus.

Okay, so this prolly isn't gonna beat Prime 1 and 2. Closer to Prime 3, which I also really liked but had a lot of new elements that are kind of a mixed bag.

Or kinda like you said, they don't want to rethink things because it might cost them something.

They're out of touch with the modern political landscape and are too stubborn to rethink their playbook. That's why you have Jeanne Shaheen (who's 78 and retiring soon) still making appeals to "working together with Republicans to help the American People" in the year of our lord 2025.
