I'm not a huge fan of thinking about it as "shame", but I do try to rationalize it as a "bump in the road". A reminder that people can be mean and fallible, but a lesson in trying to be better in the future. People are not defined by a moment, but by all their moments put together.

I have tried reaching out to people on Facebook or through text to apologize, and to be honest, they've either ghosted me or didn't even remember what I was talking about. I don't think I end up feeling any better either, because it's more about the reminder of who I can be.

Often I remember these parts from a random reminder, but it makes me feel terrible for a little bit before I come back to my normal self, who (I can only hope) is better than the person from that memory. For reference, I probably have 2-3 of these.

A lot of this resonates with me. There are moments of my life that I feel terrible for many years late that live like portraits in my brain. Sometimes it's more than just a moment, but how the memory of that person has been left. As in, I can't seperate the person from the action/moment.

How does this and previous year's profits look against plans and expectations for upcoming years? Is it alright if your expected profit is really from a 5-year venture rather than 1?

I pretend I'm very interested in floor tile anytime someone stands next to me in line.

Did you used to work in insurance? I'm curious if this is informed from being inside the industry.
