Shenangins from the Post. It's never been easier to park in Wellington City than it is at the moment
The Post printed an article today asserting that Wellington’s car parking is “overstretched”. I asked what their basis was for asserting this, given that WCC parking occupancy at peak times is only 52% and there are around 30,000 car parks overall in the central city. They removed the assertion.

The whole premise of this govt is "We want Scandi-Nordic style results, without even US levels of investment."

Anyone giving these 🤡's an airing w/o pushback is helping launder outright BS. Make no mistake: Seymour *knows* himself it's total shit, but *he's sorted*. It's *organised fraud*.
Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Finland, UK… have public healthcare. Will any NZ journalist pull David on this, or will NZ leaders, like in US, talk shit unopposed? #nzpol

Not only should we be squeamish, we should be bloody livid that our government is trying so hard to privatise our public services.

They want us to copy the US with their diabolical health system that bankrupts and kills people so their mates and donors can make money off our suffering.
Watch: David Seymour delivers State of the Nation speech

And don't forget that our annual earnings from mining royalties were spent trying to fix the damage at a single mine

This doesn't exactly inspire hope that they have learned from the last election. New Zealanders will not be served by more tinkering at the edges - we need to change how the economy works and who it works for. Time will tell when they develop their policies I suppose, but I won't hold my breath
Labour pivots focus to National's stomping grounds of economy and crime
As the party begins its year, leader Chris Hipkins says it needs to up its game on the cost of living, crime and the economy.

As always, this Government puts the interests of its donors - in this case the fishing industry - above the interests of ordinary New Zealanders and the environment
Fisheries officials warned Shane Jones the changes might be ‘inequitable’ and reduce the effectiveness of long-awaited marine protections

On the eve of Christopher Luxon’s State of the Nation speech to the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, professionals & managers are voting with their passports against the just-hustle-harder approach to economic policy. The economy itself isn’t cooperating either. thekaka.substack.com/p/nz-now-fro...
