It is the biggest and most upsetting side effect of video games becoming mainstream. Same way as how most people who watch movies only see Marvel movies. Or how most anime watchers only watch the big shounen.

it's the fact that the average gamer plays mobile games. GTA and CoD. A vast majority of people who play games have never touched anything besides the absolutely biggest franchises.
