Hey, I'm Golly, or Cas, I'm a C# software developer with around 7 years of experience. I mostly talk about random thoughts, things I'm tinkering with, and thing I found interesting or funny. 28 year old asexual disaster woman, she/her.
I could list hundreds of things I like but one is stories with wit and depth. There's something so satisfying when the author predicts how I'll feel or what I'll think and plays my heartstrings like an instrument. My favorite lines or moments are often short and quick moments that hit me hard.

I really agree with this point. If someone at work needs tasks written out rather than told to them, why should they have to prove it's because it's a symptom of ADHD to struggle with processing and prioritizing tasks? Why can't that just... Be accommodated without question?

So why is it when I get writers block I think "a robot could do this better"? I wouldn't think that if a robot passed me in a marathon. Nor would it take away from the worth of my own efforts. In fact, having a robot help me would take away from my own experience. Why do I complicate it so much?

We didn't stop playing chess when robots became smart enough to beat us at it. Perhaps it was novel to see at first, but it didn't ruin the game. Likewise, we're not going to stop running marathons just because a robot might someday be faster or more efficient than us at running. That'd be silly.

One major side effect of using AI at all is you start to think "AI could do this better" and that's disheartening as hell. I've sliced down my use to work-only because it's so hard to think through problems with the self-doubt machine looming over your shoulder. But in one question that shifted.

When you fight censorship, you're also fighting for things you might not exactly like and it's something you gotta get comfortable with. I promise you, the fetish game you turn your nose up at is NOT YOUR ENEMY. You must think of the bigger picture, you must not fall for the bait.

Oh wow it looks so good! I'm in love with the UI, excellent job!

I could see something interesting with, say, many possible dialogue branches and an AI (maybe not a full scale llm but something smart enough to understand natural written language) that directs the user down a relevant path when they make an input. But that would be a lot of human work.
